General Discussion : First year box - still five healthy chicks

Our kestrel parents are staying really busy, keeping their five chicks fed. We see a variety of things being brought in, mostly birds, though we did see Pa kestrel bring in a snake. Our kestrel parents seem to be bringing in a lot of chicks from other nests - sometimes with down, sometimes seemingly barely hatched. The nestlings are looking more and more like their parents as the days come and go, with their first grow of feathers starting to cover their little bodies.

The biggest sad element for us is we won't be here to see the fledging, this year. Here is hoping all five chicks will continue on, at least to fledging.
