That is way cool!

We are definitely going to figure out some kind of camera for our box for next year. Checking on the box causes the parents some stress and if we can minimize it even more, that would be a good thing. It may give us a chance to get some images from inside our box, too. Looking into options.

If it may be of help, you can find a lot of information about how we built the KestrelCams page in a document at http://hub.peregrinefund.org/node/79  That's inside the discussion group for "Nest boxes, pole cameras and nest cameras"

Thanks - I had been through some of the info and made contact with the company mentioned - unfortunately they seem very Windows centric and not very knowledgeable, as I had a couple of network questions and they had no clue. I'm a Mac user and have provided wired/wireless network support as a part of the Mac support I provided for hire for the last twenty years. I have research to do. I find it lame that so many of the options I've seen are using resolutions that were standard 10-15 years ago for this kind of thing. Given current tech, much higher resolution with far better color is likely possible. Monitoring versus image/video capture are different. Time will tell.
