My feeding of Purple Finches on my balcony, ideal for American Kestrel.

I believe I have created an ideal hunting arrangement for a new guest, that appeared on my 12th floor balcony today. It remained for over an hour and was not afraid when I went out and replaced water for the finches. That would have been 6 feet away when I did that. It also watched me through my blinds. It watch the Purple Finches very intently. At one point the finches were ducking and covering as it returned twice more to my garden trellis, I have attached to a planter, I created on my balcony.

I also inluded amongst my photos, a shot of half my balcony through my blinds from inside apartment for scale and also for amount of finches frequenting my balcony, with no nests.

Could'nt help including one close-up of brother finches I took.

Can't help feeling a little guilty for feeding the finches in the first place. However, they equally ate the sunflower seeds and my coleus plants and petunias.

Feeling like I completed the cirlce of life by growing a garden from seed to bird to other birds to the dropping ins my soilf for next years garden and seeds (coleus/petunia) elsewhere.
