Very cool, thanks for sharing! It's interesting to see that the female has arrived first more years than the male at your location—typically it's the other way around. Also interesting to see how the arrival at your box appears to have trended earlier over the last decade. A study here in Idaho a number of years ago found similar results, with kestrels initiating nesting around three weeks sooner in 2006 than at the start of the study in 1986. The same drivers (another, later study found this shift could be correlated with the start of the growing season) might be at play at your box.

Looking at the data it appears to be inconclusive. Some years males and other years females. Simply a random chance???
It absolutely could be—one box with nine years of data is fantastic, but it's tough to draw any statistically significant conclusions from such a small sample size. That's why folks sharing their data through the AKP is so important. One box on its own might not have enough data to get statistically signficant results, but put all of those single boxes together and you've got a pretty darn powerful conservation tool.
