I'm monitoring two nest boxes in a state park, where I work, but I see from photos here that some boxes are located in suburban areas. I have not considered putting a box on my house because I assumed kestrels would not use a box in this area or that it would be too far from prey since open fields are not nearby (half a mile). Should I put a box up under these conditions?
