I am new to this site. I see what I think is a female in the box. She is moving and making scratching sounds. Just wonder what she is doing. I have not seen this behavior on any other bird cams.

Occasionally we are asked what it takes to manage a kestrel nest webcam and publish the video stream.

The 4th egg was laid yesterday morning. Last night we were devastated to see nothing but bits of eggshells in the nest box. We have a guard on the post. Mama kestrel slept in the other nestbox last night.

I checked a nest box yesterday, and found two kestrel eggs in it. I have reason to believe they were laid by an unmated female who has since moved on. I will check the box again in a week or two.
